Previous Roles: Product Engineering Manager, Design Engineering Manager, Design Engineer
My journey with Zeda started in March of 2019 where I have been able to touch and lead phases of the full Product Development Lifecyle.
Phase 1: Research, Ideation, Concept Development and Prototyping (2019-2020)
I joined the company as a design engineer and sketched, designed, modeled, and prototyped a 50+ of 3D printed products (medical, electronics, consumer goods). I met with customers/surgeons across California to take their ideas and bring them to life.
Phase 2: Concept Testing, Engineering Development & Testing (2020-2022)
We designed a family of orthopedic devices in-house to be used for commercial use. I led a team of 4-7 engineers, where we brought 3D printing manufacturing capabilities in house, and developed and tested the products and tools for qualification/validation/production. We transformed the Fremont site from a prototyping lab to a small batch production facility.
Phase 3: Marketing/Launch (2022-2024)
We acquired a CNC/Machining company in Cincinnati (Vertex Manufacturing) for downstream post-processing as well as expansion of the company footprint. I led the technology/process transfer from Fremont to Cincinnati. We also officially launched the product at this point. Afterwards, to increase capacity, we built a 75,000 sq ft facility in Ohio for contract manufacturing medical, aerospace, and aviation additive manufacturing products at a larger scale. I was heavily involved with this build out as well as new technology tool onboarding and qualification, where I onboarded 2 of the latest Additive Manufacturing technologies. I got my hands dirty with product procurement for Medical, Aerospace, and Space applications, and led a team of 15 engineers/technicians/operators and worked with several OEMs.
